What we do

Centre for Gender and Equality offers a range of services focusing on gender equality, equality and non-discrimination towards public authorities, private enterprises and NGOs. The centre offers research-based knowledge and guidance within the gender-, ethnicity-, disability-, and LGBTIQ-discrimination grounds. We help you to achieve a comprehensive equality perspective! The Centre for Gender and Equality, in collaboration with others, organizes different events, such as workshops, lectures, seminars and conferences related to gender equality and non-discrimination. We are an ideal partner within the gender, ethnicity, disability, LGBTIQ and indigenous peoples/national minorities grounds, and we have a large national and Nordic network. If you wish to offer your employees competence raising through a seminar or workshop, or include equality perspectives in your conference, please feel free to contact us for an offer or cooperation.

The Centre for Gender and Equality offers engaging and informative presentations or lectures within a wide range of relevant themes related to gender equality and non-discrimination.

In cooperation with the research community at the University of Agder and Agder Research (Agderforskning) we offer mapping and research related to gender equality and non-discrimination.

The Centre for Gender and Equality offers competence raising and processual guidance to public authorities, private businesses, and non-governmental organizations in their work on gender equality and non-discrimination. Examples include guidance to develop strategies and management documents, information as well as and seminars on for example legislations and equal public services (LOFT).

Equality Forum
The Centre for Gender and Equality organizes several Equality Forums every six months. In these forums, researchers present their work on topics related to gender and gender equality in an engaging and understandable  way. There is plenty of time for dialogue between listeners and initiators. The Equality Forum is an excellent arena for networking between researchers and practitioners in the field of equality, students and other interested. Equality Forum is open to all. Information about the forthcoming Equality Forum will be posted on our (Norwegian) website and will also be sent via the Centre's (Norwegian) newsletter and shared in social media. Please Contact us if you would like information about the forum.

Researcher Forum
The Centre for Gender and Equality arranges several Research Forums every six months, where invited scholars present their latest research. The target group is researchers, fellows and master students. In these forums one or more researchers present their research with subsequent dialogue between listeners and initiators. Unlike Equality Forums, which is open to all, Research Forums are reserved for researchers/fellows/master students. The forum provides an opportunity for researchers to get immediate feedback on their works and it is also possible to disseminate papers in advance of meetings. The purpose of the researcher’s forum is to establish a meeting place where researchers may both get to know each other and receive and give advice on current papers. Information about the forthcoming Research Forum will be posted on our website and social media, and it will also be sent via the Centre's (Norwegian) newsletter. Please contact us if you would like information about the forum.
